Panning:
Panning is a technique where the main subject is sharp and rest is blurred. This is achieved by following the subject as it passes in front of you and continue to follow it as you press the shutter. The key is to follow the subject in the same speed it is moving.
I used shutter priority mode. This enables me to concentrate on the effect and leave the exposure to the camera. I experimented with different shutter speeds. I took many pictures before I get one result like this. It is great fun taking this type of picture.
Here i used 1/80 th of second shutter speed. I cropped the image, did some post-processing of raw file.
